The Path of Disbelief
In his second Lenten sermon on the true nature of sin, Pastor David Ball describes the Path of Disbelief, that route offered to Adam and Eve by the serpent. Using clever language the serpent sets them to slipping and sliding amid hints that God may not be as good or powerful as they think he is. In fact He may not be able to offer them the freedom and fulfillment they crave...even deserve. Only disobedience can do that, the serpent suggests. And that insinuation so casually accepted by Adam and Eve contaminated not only the Garden, but every life lived since.
