Passage: Mark 2:1-12
Service Type:

In this message, the Rev. Canon Jim McCaslin discusses lofty goals, the hunger we all have to put our mark on the world by doing something momentous. The problem is that we are cowards. To illustrate, he shared a story about boys who would walk by a high wall, daring each other to clamber to the top. They were frightened but found if they tossed their caps over the wall they were more motivated to climb and retrieve their caps. Likewise Jesus threw his cap over the wall by agreeing to suffer and die for us. We must accept the challenges God has for our lives by first throwing our caps over the wall.
